Shopify is the coolest ecommerce platform on the web. The design and ergonomics are far beyond 99% of all ecommerce platforms. Better design means better customer experience and increased business. The only downside is when you want to implement something that is too complex for the shopify system, i.e. member discounts. There are a number of plug-ins/add-ons for shopify that may provide the functionality you're looking for. Of course less complicated features can also be a good thing. If your business does it need it, keep it simple, and your sales can even benefit from simplicity.

I started off with etsy and really enjoyed their sense of community and simplicity. My business really started to grow, and after some research, I decided Shopify was best for me. It took some getting used to- I don't have a lot of technical knowledge, but it was definitely a good move for me. My business is really expanding, and Shopify offers limitless growing possibilities. The fees can add up, but if you have an established business, it's really worth it.
